Welcome Sureno’s New Italian Chef de Cuisine Roberto Commino
When Sureno opened, it set a new standard in the city for quality dining and has continued to remain at the top of our list for special occasions.
Always serving top-notch dishes that stand out by the freshness that you can taste, their service also happens to be among the best in the industry. Their gracious GM Themis Kouris will always be our favorite friendly face to see every time we step into Sureno and he spoke very highly of their new Chef de Cuisine from Italy, so I was very happy to meet the newest member of the Sureno superstar team and taste his talents!
Roberto Cimmino is from a city just south of Rome called Marino in Lazio, Italy and has previously worked in many restaurants in Italy and moved on to taking over the Italian kitchens based in top hotels around China including Shanghai and most recently the Westin in Guangzhou, so has the perfect pedigree for the pan-Mediterranean Sureno.

Migas Hosts Tasting with the World’s Top Chilean Free Range Wagyu Beef
We’ve been to a countless number of wine tastings, craft beer tastings, cocktail tastings, but a wagyu tasting?!
We recently had the pleasure to be introduced to an exciting project that Chef Aitor Olabegoya at Migas has been incubating along with a cadre of others for more than a decade. If you’re anything like us then you’ll always stare wistfully at the beautiful but poverty inducing wagyu steaks on menus around town. So priced because the Japanese jealously guard their stocks of the gorgeous meat, but thanks to guys like Beef on Food, things are slowly changing.

Magical NIKKEI Pop-Up Dinner by Chef Daniel Urdaneta + Alan Wong
I had to pinch myself to check whether I was dreaming or if it was real.
Like a fairytale dream come true, NIKKEI emerged out of the thundering clouds early Wednesday evening and exceeded all expectations for a truly extraordinary pop-up dining experience. Not only were we blessed with absolutely the best weather known to Beijing, the two talented teams behind Mosto and Hatsune created something spectacular behind those linen curtains. As guests arrived on the 4th floor rooftop of Nali Patio, they knew they were a part of something special, feeling like they just walked into Beijing’s best kept secret.
