theBeijinger Hosts Over 30 International Food Vendors
Foodies unite! theBeijinger is launching their first ever International Foodie Weekend, a F&B extravaganza taking place this weekend (May 30-31 from 11AM-8PM) at Galaxy SOHO (southwest of Chaoyangmen Subway).
They’ve signed up over 30 international food vendors – from pizza to Portuguese, American BBQ, Aussie Meat Pies, Greek, Indonesian, Mexican and plenty of decadent desserts, they’ve covered many of their favorite international eateries in Beijing. And to showcase some specialty Chinese bites, they’ll also be featuring Asiniuniu‘s Yi minority cuisine from Liangshan in Sichuan and Susongfu‘s traditional Shanghainese shengjianbao.

Get Your Hands on Sweet Tooth’s Great Sandwich Wraps
Sweet Tooth Bakery is definitely recognized and respected for all their incredible desserts (their Tim Tam cheesecake is one of my favorite indulgences in town!), but their savory menu is also worthy of mention.
Their Chicken Salad (RMB 50) and Cobb Salad (RMB 58) are both massive and among the best value lunches in my work neighborhood, but I’ve recently discovered their new sandwich wraps, which are part of their new menu!

Savor the last few days of this beloved Aussie Pie Shop in Sanlitun
“Today marks a bittersweet day for us. As we approach the 2 year anniversary of our Sanlitun store we’ve made the tough decision to close our store. Our lease ends on August 8 so this will be our last weekend and our last day of trade will probably be Tuesday or Wednesday.” – Andrew & Matt, co-founders of Two Guys and a Pie
One of the friendliest little shops, Two Guys and a Pie is a popular Aussie Meat Pie shop started by serious pie-fanatics Andrew Papas & Matt Wong. After months of these guys only offering delivery for email or online orders (i.e. making Aussie meat pies in their bathrobes out of their home apartment’s kitchen), they strategically moved into the backstreets of Sanlitun to supply the high demand for tasty, hearty authentic Aussie meat pies when they’re most craved – post-midnight, still intoxicated but ready to sober up hunger pains.
It’s been a good (almost) 2 years. A super convenient place I loved to pick up piping hot pies t0-go on my bike ride home, Matt Wong just told me today that this will be their final weekend. With many extremely loyal customers, they have prided ourselves on being the only foreign pie shop in Beijing and, needless-to-say, this renowned late night feed in Sanlitun will be deeply missed.
