Parnas’ Fine French Fusion Nestled in Nali Patio

**UPDATE: THIS VENUE IS NOW CLOSED SINCE November 2014**

Parnas Beijing: Seared Japanese Scallop, House Cured Duck Breast, Caramelized Pineapple Flambe with Rum, Warm Bell Pepper and Vanilla Sauce Dressing with Grand Marnier Glaze Orange Chips

Part of Parnas’ 3-Course Summer Set Menu, these Japanese Scallops were Sensational

I’ve been meaning to write about Parnas for some time now as they’ve been open for over a year, but they’ve gone through some big changes and I was keen to see how everything would unfold. I’ve known the owners of Parnas for many years now and have been anxiously anticipating this restaurant’s opening. One of the first customers to try them out, I remember the first time I tasted their truffle mushroom risotto and how I almost cried when I heard that they were still waiting for their executive chef’s arrival.

Since they hired Executive Chef Cyrille Molle (previously of Brasserie Flo), I’ve dined at Parnas a handful of times, each time better than the last. Though there is no longer that truffle risotto on the menu, I’m equally if not more so ecstatic about the rest of their fine dining menu.

Dining at Mosto

Starting September 25, Mosto is “shedding its skin”

Just announced by Mosto/Modo/Moka Bros’ Marketing Manager Anna Lin Yip, Mosto is taking a leap of faith to change the already winning recipe to revamp its space into a more hip and casual. With extended dining hours, they plan to start hosting early brunches and late-nights at their bar.

“At Mosto, we pride ourselves of never being afraid to renew and redefine. 6 years, 50 awards and a lifetime of happiness after, we feel it’s time. Mosto is shedding its skin, getting a new dress, embracing the change that is due.”

From the 25th September, Mosto is scheduled to undergo a thorough renovation. You can expect a lively re-opening party post-National Day holiday to see first-hand the unveiling of the new transformed space.

World Cup Festivities

Worldwide Festivities Celebrating Brazil’s World Cup

Instead of posting about where to watch World Cup 2014 games in Beijing or at what forsaken time in the middle of the night the games are playing (mostly midnight, 3am and 6am), I’m going to tell you instead about a killer menu I just found from Niajo Spanish restaurant, one of Beijing’s most underrated restaurants that I adore.

For over one month – from Friday, June 13- Friday, July 18, Niajo is serving up a beautiful 5-course menu that begins with Iberian ham and a Caipirinha on the house. Price is set at RMB 348 per person for the menu or RMB 548 including wine.

From experience, I can confidently say that Niajo always goes above and beyond when they organize these dinners. It’s great value for what you are getting and very much a reason to rally up your foodie friends for a big night out at Niajo! Whether you’re all about the World Cup or not, you can celebrate with spectacular Spanish dishes and wine.

LumDimSummary: Agua’s Infinity Weekend Brunch

Agua Infinity Brunch

A New Weekend Brunch Concept: Agua’s Infinity Brunch is what Beijingers have been waiting for

An indulgent weekend treat, Agua’s Infinity Brunch is a new take on brunching in style, “all-you-can-eat” and definitely a step up from all the copy-cat buffet spreads you see all over town. Instead of leaving a bunch of mediocre food to sit out on displayed platters that seem to care more about presentation and ornamentation, Agua’s Infinity Brunch is all about freshness and quality and nothing is cooked before it has been ordered.

After sampling Agua’s new Spring Menu a few weeks ago (launched April 1st), I was delighted to find a few similarly-inspired dishes included on their Infinity Brunch menu.

They’ve only just launched this exceptionally mouth-watering weekend brunch a few weeks ago, so expect a few menu changes and improvements as they continue to welcomely receive feedback and suggestions.
