“With the most classic play, the most unadulterated interpretation, the most luxurious cast and the most shining stars, Richard III grandly makes its debut in NCPA, and launches the shock wave of Shakespeare’s dramas once again.”

Already receiving raving reviews in the US, Richard III is a joint creation by BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music), The Old Vic and Neal Street. For the first time since 5 Oscar-winning movie American Beauty (1999), director Sam Mendes and oscar-winning actor Kevin Spacey (who is also the Artistic Director of The Old Vic) come together for the Bridge Project’s modern twist on Shakespeare’s Richard III.

Coming to the National Centre of Performing Arts in Beijing from November 11-13th, with performances starting at 19:30, the play is about 210 minutes long (intermissions included) and tickets range from RMB 200-680. There is an additional showing on November 12 from 2PM-4PM with a few ticket options remaining as well. Tickets are going fast, so if you are interested, you’d better act now.

New York Times critic Ben Brantley praised Spacey for “giving fierce and flashy physical life to every twist of a power-mad man’s corkscrew mind.”
