GtB’5: Raffles-BIFT Sustainable Design Showcase

“Working with materials like wood, metal, plastics & concrete, the students were challenged to design creative products while incorporating the ideas of sustainability into their projects.”

Showcasing special sustainable eco-design projects by the students of Raffles-BIFT International College, Beijing, this is part of the GtB’5: Green eARTh for Everyone event series.

Hosted by Raffles-BIFT, We Impact, and The Hutong, the event will be held this Saturday, December 10 from 2-5PM and they’ll be serving snacks from The Veggie Table and refreshments by Shangrila Farms.

The showcase “aims to bring about an awareness amongst the general public on the importance of sustainability issues and how creative design thinking can be used to bring about simple yet innovative changes to our lifestyle and the environment around us.”

Slow Food Saturday @ The Schoolhouse

With an organic bread station, homemade cheese station, homemade ice cream and sorghum dumpling stations, Slow Food Saturday will be showcasing culinary traditions and delicious foods while having fun in the countryside with family and friends.

Hosted by 组织者 The Schoolhouse at Mutianyu & Slow Food Beijing, visitors can take this opportunity to get outside of Beijing and enjoy walking, biking and hiking around the Schoolhouse’s four villages – Mutianyu, Beigou, Xinying and Tianxianyu. It’s also a great chance to check out local restaurants’ special dishes, local villagers’ locally grown foods, along with culinary demonstrations.

• Transport: We encourage guests to come up by bus. Our leaving point will be the Trek Store just south of Chaoyang Park. Buses will be leaving at 09:00 sharp!
