This hip Californian style Japanese restaurant boasts all the atmosphere and crowd attention to make it a Beijing legend. The fresh sashimi plates and scrumptious rolls are the order of the evening, especially the spicy “119 roll” and “Moto-rolla” Set lunches help see hungry diners streaming in and out all day long.

Kagen

A wave of the hand provides access to Kagen where a waft of the finest foods awaits as you’re seated in individually coloured and comfortable chairs. Exuding clean, eclectic styling from the industrial exterior to the granite and steel interior, Kagen creates a symphony of contrasting sights and aromas with a menu that satisfies all tastes. Complemented by a chef adept with twirling knives as ingredients are chopped, diced and displayed and dishes are delivered promptly and perfectly. From fresh sashimi and grilled prawns to tender filet mignon and Kobe beef, unique dishes such as mouth watering Beef rib “Kal-bi” and a selection of six different soups for the house specialty – Shabu-Shabu – Kagen excels at each with a focus on fresh flavours. Wash down the flavour with an extensive wine list or one of 6 signature cocktails.

Karaiya Spice House

Alan Wong’s ninth and newest project, Karaiya Spice House specializes in spicy Hunan fare, serving up flavorful dishes with a spicy kick using only top-notch quality ingredients and Western style presentation. Tailored to those who love spice, this restaurant features classic Hunan dishes – specialties include Karaiya’s Signature Ribs – a marinated bridge of hot and sour pork ribs topped with spices and peanuts and Karaiya’s Signature Fish – a steamed whole Mandarin fish with red and yellow chillies. A charming little two-story venture filled with antique Chinese artwork and sculptures and wooden window framework all across the ceiling, Karaiya is truly unique and distinguishes itself as a genuine masterpiece among Wong’s legendary Japanese restaurants. Located directly across from the new Hatsune Restaurant at the Village in Sanlitun, Karaiya is the new hot spot for those who like it hot. Can you handle the spice?
