Previous BJ FOoDiEs Charity Dinner at the Newly Opened Che Diego Argentinean Resto
BJ FOoDiEs, the highly-anticipated monthly charity dinner, is starting 2013 off strong with a very generous menu prepared at one of Beijing’s best Indian restaurants in town – Tadka at the Marriott Northeast.
“With all the terrible pollution & freezing temperatures – We couldn’t think of a better way to combat all that bad stuff with spices & killer indian cuisine.” – Xixi Cheng, Founder of BJ FOoDiEs
From my numerous dining experiences at Tadka, I can not wait to taste the generous set dinner menu provided to the BJ FOoDiEs group. From a diverse kebab platter to Marathi style lamb shank, rich butter chicken and delicate sea bass, this fantastic Indian feast is going to ignite your taste buds.

CFFC 2012 After Party at Hatsune (Photo by Lakshitha Yapa)
Reflecting on this past year, I am reminded of one of the most spectacular evenings of the year. It’s an event that comes only once a year, a glamorous evening that rallies hundreds of Beijingers together in an effort to wine, dine and party for good causes.
An event I am personally very proud to be a part of, Chi Fan for Charity (CFFC) is a Beijing’s premiere charity dining event that’s only getting better each year. This 2012, we managed to raise over RMB 400,000 in just one night in Beijing! It’s astounding to watch this event raise the bar each year, with word-of-mouth going viral and seeing more and more people active and excited about such a worthwhile charity event.
Originally founded by Michael Crain, Chi Fan for Charity has quickly made a name for itself as one of Beijing (and now Shanghai)’s most highly-anticipated culinary and charity events of the year.

Che Diego: Beijing’s Only Argentine-run Restaurant
My favorite monthly foodie event organized by Beijing Foodies is finishing the year strong with a great event lined up this Sunday, December 16 to wrap up 2012 with a grand foodie finale, an event that will also mark the foodie group’s 4 year anniversary.
“This year really went by in a blink & we really want to take this time to thank ya’ll for all the amazing support…..can you believe BJ FoODies is almost 4 YEARS OLD?!?!? We had to plan something SUPER special to celebrate the potential end-of-the-world.” – Xixi Cheng, Founder of BJ FOoDiEs
No doubt the restaurant of choice will be a full house for this upcoming BJ FOoDiEs’ X-Mas Charity Dinner, which will be hosted in a new restaurant that will have been open to the public for not more than a day!

theBeijinger’s 4th Annual Charity Super Quiz: Are you game?!
Fun Fact: LumDimSum hosts monthly pub quizzes.
…but you’d never know that because it’s a private event that Bespoke Beijing Travel & Events Co. arranges for our super star tour guides to keep them engaged with current events around the world, new updates on the Beijing scene and interesting culture related topics in both China and abroad.
And to be perfectly honest, I’d never be brave enough to play quiz master to a room full of competitive people who like to argue every last point until ears begin to bleed.
But if pub quizzes are your thing, if you have a gift for remembering random trivia knowledge, then theBeijinger’s annual Charity Pub Quiz is as good as it gets.

Get in the Spirit of Giving with the Rotary Club’s Christmas Bazaar
The Rotary Club’s Christmas Bazaar is one of the best Christmas bazaars in town for shopping, entertainment and kids love it too with a dedicated Kids’ Corner so parents can shop freely while their kids are having a ball.
Taking place next weekend from Nov 24-25 (Sat & Sun) from 09:00 to 17:00 at the Kempinski Hotel, entrance is free for all and you even get a little gift upon arrival.
This year’s bazaar will showcase over 90 Christmas shopping booths with special offers on both domestic and international exquisite goods and the pleasure of shopping in a lively holiday atmosphere with Christmas carols, performances and the lighting of a Christmas Wishing Tree.

Fighting the Good Fight: White Collar Boxing Comes to Beijing
An event that’s already been running successfully twice a year down in Shanghai called “Brawl on the Bund” (their last event at the Kerry Hotel Pudong hosted over 1000 attendees), White Collar Boxing is now introducing this popular charity boxing event for the first time to Beijing this coming weekend.
The perfect contrast of a fancy-pantsy black tie event together with a semi-violent boxing fight all in the name of charity is a winning combination for guiltless fun.
“Describing fight night…. it’s electric! All the fans and supporters decked out in tuxedos and ballgowns watching their friends throw bombs!” – Shane Benis, Co-Founder of White Collar Boxing China
