BJ FOoDiEs: “BLIND” Charity Dinner Back at Mare

Posted: August 4th, 2012 | Author: LumDimSum | Filed under: Charity, Foodies & Dining Scene, Upcoming Events | Tags: Bethel China, BJ Foodies, Charity Dinner, Mare, Spanish food, tapas, Xixi Cheng | No Comments »

Mare was one of the best ever BJ FOoDiEs dinners I have ever attended so to hear that they will be re-hosting another event at this venue is like music to my ears.  The food was not only generously portioned with plenty to go around (sometimes restaurants have not provided enough food for all the hungry foodies) and it was delicious.

It’s been two years since Mare hosted their last successful event with BJ FOoDiEs and that was when they had just moved into a new location.  Mare has been around as one of Beijing’s oldest Spanish restaurants to pass the test of time. It’s been around for long before I came to Beijing 6 years prior and although they have long been a stable in the Beijing dining scene, the restaurant has just recently undergone a facelift (according to the owner Heather), and they are anxious to get the BJ FOoDiEs family back again for a feast to support BETHEL China.

“Mare is THE eatery for institutional tapas & authentic spanish cuisine. Stylishy-attired waitstaff are renowned for their topnotch service & the upmarket ambience of the restaurant is perfect for both romantic affairs and parrrtayy atmosphere.” – Xixi Cheng, BJ FOoDiEs Founder

Hungry Foodies will be happy to hear that Mare has prepared a menu of 9 dishes and 2 desserts and all for the standard RMB 100 for the set dinner menu + glass of house wine, sangria, beer or soft drink.

Knowing that BJ FOoDiEs has arranged such a steal of a dinner deal for you this Sunday, please come prepared to donate a bit extra to this month’s charity of choice-  Bethel China, a charity organization that provides care, education, life skills & livelihood opportunities to blind and visually impaired orphans in China.

As seating is limited, it’s best to RSVP in advance: email bjfoodies@gmail.com.

About BJ Foodies Group:

BJ foodies

Organizing monthly group meals at about RMB 100/head with food/drinks included, this group of dedicated foodies is all about “satiating their inner-foodie appetites for good quality food, conversation & fine wining/sake-ing/cocktailing/beering while indulging for a cause.”

BJ FOODIES PURPOSE: 1. Just to eat a nice meal & catch up with real people & friends outside the clubbing-disease we all suffer from called Vics/Mix. 2. Opportunity to contribute our little bits to society while doing something we love – EATING. The Charity aspect is a supplementary & added bonus BUT NOT the main purpose of the group
