Beluga Caviar, the KING of all caviar and by far the most expensive, was once a just a luxury in life I thought I’d never experience.
And then my birthday happened and I was told to meet at Hatsune at eighteen hundred hours for a dinner of champagne and caviar.
Turns out that one of the winners of this year’s Hatsune Sushi Roll Contest, the creator of the White Russian Roll, just got back from a trip home to Russia and after the announcement of this year’s contest winners, he wanted to be the first to try his roll in in true form with imported Beluga Caviar from Russia and we were all invited to partake in this momentous occasion! (It was really only a lucky coincidence that this happened to be my Birthday weekend, hence the ‘champagne and caviar birthday dinner’ invitation).
He gave his container of Beluga caviar to sushi king Alan Wong who instructed his sushi samurai masters behind the sushi bar to generously load it onto the new White Russian roll!
Voilà! The WHITE RUSSIAN Roll at its finest: Fresh crab meat, deep-fried gobo, avocado and oshinko pickled cucumber topped with torched white tuna and black Beluga caviar.

To enjoy more of a variety, he also offered to graciously shared his caviar with our dear friend and creator of the candy&caviar Roll.

And after the sushi rolls were finished, this is how much Beluga we had left over just to eat by the spoonful…which, in my opinion, should really be the only way to truly indulge in Beluga.
