Finally, visitors can have a real sense of Beijing without having to sacrifice “modern comforts”.
The Orchid is a new western-run luxury boutique hotel…located in a traditional-style Chinese hutong in Beijing.
The only one of its kind, this traditional Chinese-style boutique hotel has only 10 rooms and my anonymous source tells me room rates start at about RMB 600+.
“The Orchid offers 10 individually-designed rooms with the emphasis on personality, privacy and comfort.”
Set in a uniquely traditional, beautiful setting, this boutique hotel has a contemporary twist with Western management and service. I plan to make a trip over soon to check out the space and rooms myself to see the level of detail and quality they offer.
And even though I have yet to visit the space myself, it looks incredible and if anyone has already been, I’d love to hear your feedback/comments! Click here for their website.
From what I can tell, it’s no Opposite House in terms of quality, detail and international acclaim, but as The Orchid is really the first one of its kind, and even the Opposite House may be in for some serious competition!

Maybe not int’l acclaim, but I have to disagree and say that The Orchid is truly top notch in terms of quality and detail…
