Probably the one of the best Guizhou restaurants, Three Guizhou Men or San Ge Guizhou Ren 三个贵州人 continues to stand out among expats and locals alike as the premiere dining destination for Guizhou food. So, what is it that makes Three Guizhou Men so special?
The decor is nice, but nothing spectacular; the service is mediocre, and while the menu selection is overall quite good, there is one thing that brings me back time after time:

Three Guizhou Men’s House Specialty: Fried Spare Ribs (RMB 68)
If the picture doesn’t speak for itself, let me just say that these ribs are to die for. The meat is so tender and juicy, it practically falls off the bone and melts in your mouth. The spices are flavorful and definitely have that extra kick, if that’s what you’re after.
Other dishes worth noting:

Green Onion Cooked with Tofu (RMB 26)/Fried Baby Cabbage Minced Meat (RMB 22)

Barbecue Beef on Fire (RMB 48)/Guizhou Smashed Potato (RMB 26)
Review of Three Guizhou Men三个贵州人: Bldg 7, Jianwai Soho, 39 Dongsanhuan Zhonglu, Chaoyang District, 朝阳区东三环中路39建外Soho7号楼; Tel: 6406 2399.
Best Part:
- Spare Ribs
- Spare Ribs
- Barbecue Beef on Fire
- …did I mention the Spare Ribs?
- Seriously though, the prices are very reasonable (For a group of 5 people, expect to pay about RMB 50-70 each)
- Menu has photos for every dish, so ordering is made simple.
Comments:
- Ribs and Beef aside, the other dishes were good, but nothing memorable.
- As always with Chinese restaurants, I recommend going in a group so that you can sample more of a variety.
- For the past few times, the restaurant was out of a few dishes, not sure if that is a common thing. In the restaurant’s defense, my foodie crew and I tend to be late diners.
Rating: (on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being best)
- Food: 8
- Atmosphere: 6
- Service: 7
- Overall Experience: 7
