Fake Thanksgiving

Posted: July 3rd, 2010 | Author: LumDimSum | Filed under: A Day In My Life, Foodies & Dining Scene | Tags: Alan Wong, Asher Gillespie | No Comments »

In a nutshell:

“We love Thanksgiving too much to limit ourselves to once a year.”

- Alan Wong‘s philosophy on his legendary Fake Thanksgiving Feasts

I absolutely, 100% concur.

In the spirit of American pride, how better to started off the Fourth of July weekend with a Fake Thanksgiving feast?

A big thank you to Asher Gillespie for the glorious feast that included 2 giant turkeys, massive portions of mashed potatoes, two green bean casseroles, mac & cheese, stuffing, corn bread and deviled eggs.

Crazy Beautiful Clouds

After a week of intensely polluted air, Beijing finally cleared up for the weekend with blue skies and some of the coolest clouds I’ve ever seen.

Like the ripples you see when you make a splash in water, white clouds were waving outwards from the sun, revealing a truly beautiful landscape, especially at sunset.

Living in Beijing just a few years really has given me a new-found appreciation for the little things like blue skies and clouds that I desperately miss from sunny California.

If only the skies here were this pretty every day…a girl can only dream.
